Leiv Kåre Johannessen and Magne V. Aarset started exploring their curiosity on how technology can stimulate learning while working together at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology. They both share a passion not only for technology, but also how their invention can make a difference in the learning environment for students around the world.

Johannessen/ Aarset - Founders of TERP
TERP is based in Norway and Hong Kong and has operations in Europe and Asia.
Leiv Kåre Johannessen has extensive experience from both business and academia and has also served as a naval officer. Johannessen has a record of changing every organization he has joined. This time the bar is raised and the aim is to disrupt an industry. Johannessen’s drive to explore and improve has become part of the company culture.
Magne V. Aarset is a mathematician/statistician with high-level experience from the European Space Agency (ESA). Aarset has been associated with BI Norwegian Business School since 1983 and is an associate professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Aarset’s primary focus in TERP is on artificial intelligence (AI), in particular machine learning.
Our CTO Tor Ivar Våge is a serial entrepreneur of tech start-ups. Våge is the true defintion of "Finance meets Technology". A self-proclaimed tech nerd who developed the first online check-in system at airports in Norway at the tender age of 16. At 24 Våge headed to Switzerland to pursue an academic degree in finance. Våge is also well connected in both the tech and venture capitalist environments of Singapore after spending a few years working there. Våge was the founder of InfoGym and became a co-founder of TERP when the company acquired InfoGym.
Manila-based Michael John Esplago is our regional manager for Asia-Pacific. Esplago started his professional career as a Merchant Marine Officer and later on served the Philippine's Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) in various capacities. Esplago has advocated stronger Philippine cooperation internationally and has served as the Philippine STCW Competent Person in the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in London, UK. Esplago`s local presence in Southeast Asia is essential to our operations in the region.
